Our Early Literacy skill for the day is: Print Awareness. An easy way to make your child aware of books is to have them see you reading; it doesn't really matter what you're reading. Children mimic adults, especially they parents / caregivers. Reading 15 minutes a day helps enforce the importance of reading in your faily and builds all of the other Early Literacy skills.

Early Literacy Tip: To help with Phonological Awareness (understanding and saying small vowel sounds) clap the syllabels in words they are using in order to help the child hear the smaller sounds in words, a great way to start this activity is with your child's name.
